 Hi! I’m Michaela, the director and infant teacher at Poppy’s Playhouse in Bountiful. I’ve worked in childcare for about eight years and absolutely love what I do. I’m a mom to two amazing kids who get to come to work with me each day, which makes my job even more special.

I truly enjoy working with all the wonderful children here at Poppy’s and helping create a safe, loving environment for them to grow and thrive. Some of my favorite things include crocheting, cooking, reading, crafting, Diet Coke, and spending quality time with my family.

Throughout my experience, I’ve had the opportunity to support children at many different stages of development, helping them grow, learn, and build confidence in a safe, nurturing environment. I strive to create a space where every child feels valued, encouraged, and excited to explore the world around them.

I believe in leading with patience, kindness, and consistency. I love building strong connections not only with the children, but with their families as well. Watching children reach new milestones—big or small—is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do, and I feel so grateful to be part of their journey each day.

My goal is to help each child feel safe, loved, and supported in a calm, nurturing environment. As a mom myself, caring for little ones is especially meaningful to me.

When I’m not at Poppy’s, you can usually find me behind my camera capturing special moments, baking something sweet, or spending time with my daughter. Some of my favorite things are Diet Dr. Pepper, peanut butter M&Ms, and homemade pizza.

I’m so excited to be part of Poppy’s Playhouse and look forward to building strong connections with the children and families here!

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy a quiet life with my husband and children, often spent curled up with a good book or working on a creative art project. I’ve always found caring for others to be incredibly rewarding, which is what led me to work with children. In the future, I hope to become a labor and delivery nurse so I can continue supporting families during some of their most special moments.
