Our Story
Kate opened Poppy’s Playroom in Centerville, Utah in March of 2019 with a simple but meaningful goal—to create a daycare that felt safe, flexible, convenient, and truly fun for families, starting with her own children. As a parent, she understood how unpredictable and busy life can be, and she was passionate about offering care that could accommodate parents’ ever-changing, sometimes “crazy” schedules. She also knows that the cost of childcare can be a major stress point for families, and she strives to keep tuition as affordable and accessible as possible without compromising quality of care.
What began as a small, heartfelt vision quickly grew into something much bigger. As more families found a home at Poppy’s, the Centerville location soon outgrew its space, leading to the opening of our Bountiful and Layton locations.
At Poppy’s Playroom, your child’s safety and well-being are our top priorities. Every caregiver has passed an extensive background check and is certified in CPR and First Aid. Our team also participates in ongoing training to ensure we consistently provide the highest quality care in a safe, nurturing environment.
Today, Poppy’s Playroom is more than just a daycare—it’s a community. Kate’s passion for creating a nurturing, supportive, and accessible environment continues to shape everything we do, and we are so grateful for the amazing families who make up our Poppy’s Family. 💛

Hi everyone! My name is Kate, and along with my husband Bob, we are the proud owners of all three Poppy’s Playroom locations. I am a busy mom to six amazing kids—one boy and five girls—who keep life exciting and full of joy every day.
We love spending time together as a family, raising our little farm which includes chickens, cows, and dogs. When I can find a little extra time, I enjoy playing volleyball and coaching at Farmington High School.
At our centers, I often fill in for teachers when they are sick or on vacation, so you might see me popping in from time to time. If you do, please say hello—I’d love to meet you and your little ones personally. I’m excited to be part of your child’s journey at Poppy’s Playroom and hope to see you soon!
